Books
My first collection of stories, ‘Higgle-Dee Piggle-Dee Mole’, ‘Hermie’s Mishap’ and ‘A Chance Meeting’ were inspired by my love of the unique forest animals found in the English woods.
Higgle Dee Piggle Dee Mole
Helen Mun
‘Higgle Dee Piggle Dee Mole’ is a friendly welcoming member of the meadow community. Winter is approaching and Higgle Dee Piggle Dee and his friends rally together to protect themselves from the adder which lives at the other end of the meadow. Agreeability, ingenuity, and teamwork are characteristics of the meadow animals which see them through to the end.
Hermie’s Mishap
Helen Mun
The second book in the series about the meadow animals is called ‘Hermie’s Mishap.’ It is about a happy, agreeable hedgehog finds herself in an unexpected mess. One of the meadow animals which live under the old oak tree, Hermie is not flustered by her mishap and instead continues to sing merry tunes and share them with new friends. This is a story about friendship and accepting others for who they are as well as resilience in adversity.
A Chance Meeting
Helen Mun
The third book in the series, ‘A Chance Meeting’ finds the meadow animals of the old oak tree with very little food and water due to a long hot summer drought. On a warm night, two barn owls Ollie and Oralia were not expecting to meet this band of meadow animals, but they did. Then began a great journey filled with excitement and sadness. This was a chance meeting that changed everything. A story about overcoming adversity, perseverance, and forgiveness.
